Travelling to Italy

Travelling to Italy – Update 5th July 2021

Please be informed of the latest requirements for entry into Italy, issued by the Italian national authorities:

·         Any passenger over 6 years must present a negative COVID 19 molecular or antigen test result, based on a swab taken at most 48 hours before arrival.

Alternatively, Italy is accepting the EU Digital Covid Certificate which shows that 14 days have been passed from vaccination, recovery from Covid within the end of the isolation requirement or Negative PCR/antigen test result 48 hours before entry into Italian territory. Other certificates issued by EU Member States (until the 12th August) or third countries containing one of the above – in the case of vaccine certificates it has to be for a vaccine approved by EMA (Pfizer, Moderna, Astra Zeneca, Johnson & Johnson) – shall also be accepted by Italy. Such certificates which must be in Italian, English, French or Spanish may be presented in paper or digital form.

The above would also apply for passengers who are transiting through any airport in Italy.
