Air Malta and Emirates renew their Codeshare Agreement

Air Malta and Emirates have renewed their long-standing agreement by which they will codeshare flights between Malta and Larnaca, Cyprus. Starting from 14th July 2021, Emirates, the operating airline, will restart operations between Malta and Larnaca with a three times a week schedule, with flights connecting on to Emirates’ home base in Dubai.

Commenting on this agreement Roy Kinner, Air Malta’s Chief Commercial Officer said, “The reinstatement of this code-share arrangement comes at a particular important time for us and the airline industry when we are rebuilding our flight networks. We are happy to note the willingness of both Airlines to continue working with each other and restore connectivity for the benefit of customers. Both Emirates and Air Malta share the same quality service commitment towards their clients, and we are excited to work again with Emirates.”

Emirates Chief Commercial Officer Adnan Kazim added: “As more international destinations begin easing their travel restrictions, Emirates has been expanding its services to provide more choice and convenience for customers who can now plan travel to a growing list of countries across the Emirates network. Emirates is pleased to collaborate with the Maltese national airline for the benefit of Malta’s increased connectivity to the east of the world.”

The route will be operated three times weekly every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Flight numbers EK109 / KM2107 will leave Larnaca at 1220hrs, arriving in Malta at 1405hrs. The return flight, EK110 / KM2108 leaves Malta at 1535hrs, arriving in Larnaca at 1900hrs. Customers also have seamless access between Larnaca and a number of European cities connecting onto Air Malta’s flights via Malta.

The flights will be operated with Emirates two-class Boeing 777-300ER, offering 42 lie-flat seats in Business and 386 ergonomically designed seats in Economy class.

Emirates and Air Malta commenced their code-sharing agreement on this route in October 2005.
