Travelling to Malta: Air Malta advise customers of new entry requirements

Air Malta is advising customers that all persons travelling to Malta must, prior to boarding, be in possession of a negative PCR test performed within 72 hours of their arrival in Malta and a completed Passenger Locator Form including a Public Health Travel Declaration Form. Passengers in possession of a valid Maltese vaccine certificate can use this in lieu of a negative PCR test result. Customers, who are not in possession of these documents will be denied boarding. These new entry requirements, issued by the Government of Malta by virtue of Legal Notices 229 and 230 of 2021, enter into force on Tuesday 1st June 2021.

Persons found in breach of this requirement on arrival into Malta will be required to have a mandatory PCR test taken upon arrival and will be required to enter mandatory quarantine until the PCR test results become known. Mandatory quarantine can be extended for whatever period deemed necessary in the event the person’s test results are positive. The cost of both the test and the mandatory quarantine accommodation will be borne by the passenger found in breach. Passengers under 5 years of age are exempted from these requirements.

The Passenger Locator Form and the Public Health Travel Declaration Form are available here: Completed forms are to be presented to health officials stationed at the Terminal Temperature Screening Points following arrival in Malta.

Air Malta urges its passengers to keep themselves updated with the latest travel requirements.
