A couple of weeks ago, a friend invited me to join them in shooting an upcoming Air Malta video. Truth be told, I didn't need much convincing to pack some local delicacies and head off to join the crew of 30 people at one of Malta's best beaches at sunset. The concept behind the shoot intrigued me as well: a timelapse animation using over 400 red candles to share what the Maltese way of life looks, tastes, sounds and feels like.
It's almost impossible to explain the feelings evoked by seeing the iconic beach lit by a grid of hundreds of candles, which we lit and extinguished to create a series of images evoking some of the feelings which the Maltese Islands tend to inspire in travellers like myself. At the end of the shoot, I was sworn to secrecy so I couldn't share my excitement...until today. Air Malta has just released the finished video on its YouTube channel. Check it out:
