Family-friendly hop-on hop-off buses

Hop -On Hop-Off Buses

Discover Malta in under 24 hours!

Now seemingly a standard attraction in most international cities, hop-on hop-off buses make sightseeing  both an enjoyable and an efficient event. The hop-on hop-off buses on the Maltese islands are no different, offering families the opportunity to see practically all of Malta and Gozo in a matter of hours.

While Malta’s small size does make the sightseeing process easier, sometimes renting a car or using public transport can be a hassle, be it due to parking difficulties or overcrowded buses. With the hop-on hop-off buses, the whole family can sightsee in complete comfort, courtesy of these fully air-conditioned buses that will pick up and drop off ticket holders at the most convenient and popular spots.

Just picture it - you could go the beach  in Mellieha, do a spot of shopping  in Sliema and head to dinner in Valletta  without once having to worry about where you’ve parked your car, getting the right directions or even missing out on the experience with your kids. With a selection of routes of differing distance and duration, you and your family can enjoy the easygoing hop-on and hop-off lifestyle as you get a full tour of the Maltese islands.

With different operators offering various routes, the main routes are the North and South tours, which cover the full expanse of Malta, taking you to the furthest tip of the island on either side. On these buses you are guaranteed a scenic route, and a hassle-free travelling experience.

Both routes start in Sliema , and after a short journey to Valletta, the routes diverge, with one of them going north, while the other heads south.  Each tour lasts between 90 and 120 minutes, while buses pass each stop every 30 minutes.

Whether you are on the lower level of the bus enjoying the air-conditioning or on the top of the double decker, these buses enable you to see Valletta, Mdina, Malta’s countryside , as well as Malta’s most historic sites such as the prehistoric temples  or the infamous Three Cities .

A Gozo  tour is also available, where you can see Gozo’s stunning beaches, the prehistoric Ggantija temples and the 8th wonder of the world, the Azure Window in Dwejra .

Additionally, there are special bus tours that will take you around Malta at night, as well as during one of Malta’s many summertime festas  where you can see sensational fireworks from the best seats in the house.
