Winter Wonderland runs from 18th November until 2nd January from 10 am to 10 pm. Every year it attracts people of all ages to come and soak up the festive cheer. The minute you enter through the main gates you’ll be left in awe by the sheer size of the event. If you don’t know where to start, then why not take a ride on the giant observation wheel? From 60 metres above Hyde Park you’ll be able to get your bearings of where everything is as well as being able to see for miles around. If you’re feeling a bit adventurous, you can try out some of the many carnival rides too.
Taking in a circus show or two is a must. You read that right. Not one, but two different circuses await you within Winter Wonderland. Zippos Christmas Circus is a perfect treat for all the family with many impressive aerial acts, skilful jugglers and colourful clowns. The second circus, Cirque Berserk, will amaze you with a nail-biting daredevil show of pure skill. Both of these circuses operate at different times of the day from the Mega Dome, the largest circus tent in the UK. If you feel like you need to calm your nerves after Cirque Berserk, you should check out Bar Ice. Enjoy a delicious cocktail in this sub-zero bar surrounded by glistening ice structures. This surreal location is the perfect venue for a romantic date, make sure to bring your best winter coat and some comfy gloves though!
All this festive merriment can be hungry work, luckily food is in no short supply at Winter Wonderland. There are so many different charming places to eat and drink you’ll be spoilt for choice. If you’re visiting with kids, then you simply must go to Santa Land. With plenty of rides for children, places to eat and Santa in his grotto, the little ones will never want to leave. Make sure to bring them to see Santa, if they’ve been good they’ll even get a gift!
No trip to Winter Wonderland would be complete without ice skating. The “pièce de résistance”, this ice rink is the largest open air ice rink in the UK. Stretch your legs and have fun skating around with your family, friends or that special someone while live music from the bandstand provides the perfect setting for your skate.
