The Royal Moscow Ballet will be making their way to Malta to perform the “Tchaikovsky Ballet Gala” and “Cinderella Ballet Spectacle” this weekend.
The Royal Moscow Ballet, one of the most internationally respected touring ballet companies from Russia, will be making their way to Malta this weekend for two concerts which promise to provide spectacular entertainment to all those who attend!
The Royal Moscow Ballet Company, known as “The Crown of Russian Ballet”, was founded in 1997. The company is composed of the best Russian choreography school graduates, and has successfully toured around the globe. This includes places such as France, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Germany, China, Kenya, Canada, Costa Rica, amongst others, and this weekend 35 of the company’s professional ballet dancers will be performing in Malta under the direction of artistic director Anatoliy Emelianov, .
The Royal Moscow Ballet will be performing the first of their two concerts, the “Tchaikovsky Ballet Gala” on Friday 15th May at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta in order to celebrate the 175th anniversary since the birth of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Tchaikovsky is a renowned Russian composer, whose works include the famous ballets “Swan Lake”, “The Nutcracker”, “Sleeping Beauty” as well as “Romeo & Juliette”, extracts of which will be performed at the concert. The concert will start at 8.30pm and is suitable for audiences aged 7 years and above.
The second concert that the Royal Moscow Ballet will be performing this weekend will be the “Cinderella Ballet Spectacle”. This will take place on Sunday 17th May at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta. The classical fairytale of Cinderella has been staged as a ballet ever since the 18th century, and still captivates audiences around the world today. With music by Sergey Prokofiev, choreography by Anatoliy Emelianov and enchanting sets by Valentin Federov, who is chief designer at the Chebaksari State Opera House, the concert promises to be an enchanting experience for all the family, and is suitable for audiences aged 5 years and above.
