Tis’ the season to be jolly, and even more so down at Valletta Waterfront! From now until right up until New Year’s Eve, you can embrace the Valletta Waterfront Christmas Wonderland! If you are planning a  holiday in Malta, there’s a whole host of wonderful Christmas celebrations occuring.

Head to the Waterfront, and you’ll see a giant 35ft Christmas tree is already in place, Santa’s workshop is all set up as well as his grotto and an enchanted snow garden. Visit Santa for the perfect photo opportunity which will serve as a beautiful keepsake of your time in Malta. The beautifully decorated setting really sets the tone for a winter wonderland! There’s even a giant nutcracker!

What’s on?

There’s a bustling programme with various daily events. These range from enjoying Christmas Festa bands, playing giant Christmas games, to meeting Santa himself! If you post Santa a letter from there, you will also get a reply!

Besides, expect to be dazzled by an assortment of musical and dance shows. On Saturday the 21st of December Wallace Pipes and Drums will also be making an unforgettable appearance as well as Ina Robinich’s Vocal Lane Choir. Activities have been planned with keeping both children and adults suitably entertained, making it a truly unmissable event for all the family! While Santa’s elves are on break from the workshop, they will be organising lots of fun and games for the little ones (and not-so-little ones) to take part in. Aside from those mentioned above, there will be;

•    Face painting,

•    Festive crafts,

•    Meet & greets with beloved characters,

•    Puppet shows,

•    Bouncy castles and so much more.

Dine before you explore.

There will, of course, be all the regular restaurants along the Waterfront serving up the best in local and international cuisine. Why not make a night of it and head for dinner before exploring the wonderlands offerings.


The Waterfront will be bustling with fun, games, food and plenty of Christmas cheer on 1st, 6th, 7th, 8th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 20th – 31st December and on the 1st of January.

New Year’s Eve with a bang!

If you fancy wrapping up the year in style in a unique setting, the Waterfront is also preparing from a New Year’s Eve party. There will be plenty of top bands to dance the night away to, as well as entertainers for the kids. Not forgetting a fantastic firework show to usher in 2020! If you are really in the party mode, a DJ will hit the decks from 12.30 am spinning top tunes to keep you dancing your way into January.
