A passenger carrying sports-related equipment is granted 15 kgs extra baggage allowance free of charge if the sport practiced causes one to carry heavy equipment e.g. diving, tennis, skiing.
Those passengers carrying a bicycle receive an additional 15 kgs of free Baggage allowance. The bicycle should be contained in a protective box or bag. Bicycle pedals must be removed or fixed inwards and handlebars must be fixed sideways. The tyres may be deflated to reduce risk of damage.
Golf Clubs are carried free of charge.
Any excess weight over these allowances will be charged at the applicable rate at the time of check-in. Kindly note that one will be asked to verify the equipment at check-in so this should be easily accessible in the luggage.

A new set of rates for specific types of sport baggage shall be announced during the first weeks of September. These new rates will be available for sale on www.airmalta.com, effective for flights on/after 01 November 2008.
