Q - What are Air Malta’s requirements for adult passengers travelling with children under 18 months of age?
A – We make no special requirements of adult passengers travelling with children under 18 months of age. However please remember that a child under 2 years of age is not entitled to a seat on the aircraft and is classified as an Infant. Also, please ensure that the immediate needs for the infant are carried as hand baggage and are readily available.
An Infant is allowed 10 kgs free baggage allowance.
Q - What are Air Malta’s requirements for health and well-being during travel?
A - We must ensure that all passengers accepted on board our aircraft are in a good state of health. Passengers suffering from certain medical conditions are required to obtain a certificate allowing them to fly, available from our medical doctor. Q - I have a medical condition. Am I able to travel on Air Malta flights?
A - It depends on the type of medical condition from which you are suffering. Some conditions will necessitate a Medical Certificate, stating that you are fit to travel. This certificate is to be forwarded to our Medical Help Desk where our medical doctor will determine whether you are fit to fly or not. Q - Can I travel on an Air Malta flight if I am pregnant?
A - Yes, you can travel on our flights if you are pregnant.
If you are within 28 to 35 weeks of pregnancy you will require a certificate from your medical consultant stating that you are fit enough to fly.
From 36 weeks of pregnancy onwards, you will need our clearance as issued by our medical doctor. Our Medical Help Desk may be contacted on Tel : +356 22999296, or email.
Please note that travelling when 36 weeks pregnant ( or over that period ) is not recommended.
Q - Does Air Malta provide wheelchair assistance at airports?
A - Wheelchair assistance is provided by the airport authorities. However, you may place your application for airport assistance with Air Malta. It is important that this application is made well in advance of your departure date. You may place your request by :

Q - I need to take daily injections of a low-molecular-weight heparin. Am I permitted to bring my pre-filled syringes into the cabin?
A - Any syringes needed during the flight can be carried as hand baggage provided you are carrying a valid medical prescription for them.
