Air Malta Football Tournament and 6KM walk in Aid for Puttinu Cares

9 May 2013

€1,730 were last weekend raised through donations by Air Malta’s employees who organised a 5-a-side football tournament and a 6km walk in aid of Puttinu Cares.

This was the sixth year that employees organised this football tournament which saw the participation of eight teams from engineering, flight operations, cargo operations, passenger handling, head office and baggage handling.

For the first time this year the tournament was also supplemented by a 6km fun walk from ‘Skyparks to Skyparks’ which took participants around the villages in the airport perimeter.

This has been a great fund-raising activity. It was good to see that the efforts we have put in were appreciated and that several employees have attended these events. We are really pleased that we have also managed to collect a nice sum in aid of Puttinu Cares,” said Joe Cassar and Dominic Bellizzi who organised these events together with Vanessa Muscat and Kathleen Saliba, from Air Malta’s Sport and Social Club.

The football tournament event was held at the Melita Football Grounds who provided their facilities free of charge in order to assist in the proceeds for Puttinu Cares.

The funds will be presented to Puttinu Cares in the coming days.
