Air Malta was recently presented with the Punctuality Award for Short Haul Airlines by Brussels Airport at the Jubilee edition of its awards night.
Commenting on this success Silvio Falzon, Chief Operations Officer of Air Malta said, “We are really excited to be awarded for the second year running for our punctuality by Brussels Airport. Over the last few years we have worked hard to improve our On Time Performance (OTP) figures.”
“Every year we operate around 15,000 flights and each and every flight is a team effort by various department be it engineering, flight operations, cabin services, cargo operations, ground handling and others. Our efforts and various projects to improve our performance are bearing fruit and I wish to thank all operations staff who work relentlessly in this area to maintain our high level of operational efficiency,” commented Mr Falzon.
“Air Malta places high importance on our commitment to getting our guests to their destinations whatever the situation. As an airline we take pride that we continue to operate our schedule even when faced with airport disruptions, technical issues and other operational interruptions”, added Mr Falzon.
Winners of this year’s awards various categories included Ryanair, Brussels Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines Cargo, Air Cargo Belgium, Qatar Airways, LSG Skychefs and Singapore Airlines. Over 200 representatives from airlines, online agencies and tour operators from all over the world were present.
Air Malta has been operating to Brussels for 43 years and currently operates with up to double daily flights. This summer the airline plans to continue increasing seat capacity on the Brussels route by over 25% or another 20,000 seats over the same period last year. This is the fifth year in a row that Air Malta has increased flights and seats on this route.
