Fleet

Air Malta operates a fleet of eight Airbus A320 family aircraft manufactured by Airbus Industrie. The Airline operates, 4 x A320ceo and 4 x A320neo aircraft.

The A320neo is one of many upgrades introduced by Airbus to improve on cost-efficiency, range, payload and reduced emissions over the A320ceo. Our A320neo aircraft are powered by the new-generation engines LEAP-1A, from CFM International. The aircraft are easily identifiable from their fuel-saving wingtip devices known as ‘Sharklets’.

The first of our A320neo aircraft joined the fleet in May 2018, whilst a further two aircraft joined the fleet in the summer of 2019. The Airline will be replacing all its fleet to A320neos over a period of around five years.

 Safety

Safety is one of our core values. Our customer commitment is to ensure that safety comes first, above all other objectives, both on the ground and in-flight. The fleet is maintained to the highest standards, with our engineering team ensuring that all our maintenance works meet or exceed the exacting standards and procedures set by the manufacturers and regulatory authorities.

We implement a Safety Management System which complies with European Regulations and industry best practice. It encompasses all aspects of our operation and we are driven by a culture of continuous improvement in all matters of operational safety.
