Q - Does Air Malta fly to/from the USA?

A - No, we do not presently fly to or from North America.

Q - I am already in the USA. How can I best fly to Malta?

A – Choose your preferred transatlantic carrier to fly you to Europe, and then connect with an Air Malta flight to Malta from one of a large number of European cities. Information about our route network can be obtained from the online timetable.

Q - Which destinations does Air Malta fly to?

A - We cover an extensive route network in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. London, Rome, Frankfurt or Vienna are the most popular connecting gateways for transatlantic travellers originating from the USA or Canada. Information about our route network can be obtained from the online timetable.

Q - Does Air Malta have any special fare agreements with transatlantic carriers?

A – Yes we do. We have special agreements with Delta, Northwest and Virgin Atlantic. You can fly out of the USA with these carriers and connect with Air Malta at the appropriate European gateway, using just one ticket for the entire journey. Click here for a list of US agents and operators that provide Air Malta fares.

Q - How long is the journey to Malta?

A - This depends on various factors such as your departure point, the European gateway you use, and the connection time between flights etc. Typically, transatlantic flights from JFK, Newark or Washington take between 6 to 8 hours to get to Europe. Flights to Malta from London take about 3 hours and 20 minutes, from Frankfurt about 2 hours and 55 minutes, and from Rome 1 hour and 30 minutes. Connecting times vary at these gateway airports.

Q - I also want to visit Sicily. Does Air Malta fly there?

A – Certainly. We fly regularly to Catania and Palermo in Sicily. Our recommended operator can also provide you with these tickets before you depart from the USA.

Our Flyaway Tours offer excellent holiday packages to many destinations. Click here for more details on Flyaway Tours.
