- Passengers carrying firearms should make prior arrangements for a police escort to be available at time of check-in. The police escort shall take charge of the firearm on check-in, through Customs procedures and up to the aircraft.
- The firearm must be unloaded.
- Only 5kg of ammunition is allowed in checked luggage. This must be taped together and placed in the middle of the suitcase among clothing. This must be brought to the attention of the check-in agent and security personnel who will verify that the allowed weight is not exceeded.
- On arrival, a police officer will escort the firearm to the Customs area.
- One must verify that all required permits and licenses are in place before travel.
