Bay Music Awards 2013

6 December 2013

This little island never fails to impress me with the amount of talent that it has to offer! The fantastic Gaia Gauci has just won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 and up next is the end of year event that all of Malta has been waiting for - the Bay Music Awards! This year, 89.7 Bay, Malta’s no.1 Hit Music Station, will be staging the 10th edition of its biggest event on the 21st December at the Bay Arena.  This annual performance celebrates Malta’s most popular artists played on the radio station during the past year.

Hosted by Dorian Cassar, Nate Darmanin and Ylenia Spiteri, this year’s event promises to be a spectacular night with some surprises in store. The awards will be bringing together a variety of Malta’s biggest artists and DJs and will be opening in style with a fashion show put together by Carina Camilleri at 9:30pm. Red Electrick, Christabelle, Winter Moods and Airport Impressions will be taking the stage for a live performance while 89.7 Bay DJs, Dorian Cassar and Nathan D will be entertaining the crowds.

The Bay awards have been taking place since 2003 and through the years have seen only the top artists in Malta perform. I have been to these awards before and had a really good time so I am really excited to see what 89.7 Bay has in store for its audience at the BMAs 2013!

This year Maltese artists will be awarded prizes and recognition for best newcomer, best dance  tune or remix , best song, best solo artist, and best band award. Last year Red Electrick won the best band prize whilst Christabelle won best solo artiste.

Keep your eyes open for a BMA event sticker on the back of a Yellow Taxi ,take a photo of it and you may be the lucky winner of a ticket to the awards!

Event tickets are on sale for €10. If you want to be right at the front you can get a special ‘screamer’ ticket for €15; and there are a limited number of VIP tickets available at €30 each including an open bar and canapés. There will even be a Teen Area for younger teens aged between 14 and 17 where non-alcoholic beverages will be served. Teen tickets are being sold at €10 from the Eden Cinema Box Office whilst Adults can purchase their tickets online. If you want to go you’d better be quick! Tickets are selling out fast.

The 2013 Bay Music Awards are supported and sponsored by Air Malta Coca Cola and Vodafone.I am counting down the days!
