St George’s Bay

St Georges Bay MaltaSt.George's Bay

Situated in St Julian’s, St George’s Bay is a popular beach bang in the middle of the main entertainment hub in Malta.

Surrounded by hotels, restaurants, clubs and language schools, St.George's Bay is especially popular with tourists visiting during the Summer months.

Despite St Julian’s popularity with tourists, there wasn’t a sandy beach within this area up to a few years ago. The local council changed this rocky coast into a sandy beach by using sand brought in from abroad. Although the beach itself is quite small, one of Malta’s leading shopping centres, Baystreet and cinemas are just off the road.

Families as well as couples flock to this bay for a break in the sunny climate that the Maltese Islands have to offer. Whether you are visiting during the winter or summer months, you can spend time on the beach basking in the sun.

This beach proves popular on summer nights as youngsters gather to socialize.  Although small in size, just off the beach plenty of bars and restaurants are available. Transport to this area of Malta is not a problem as St Julian’s is served by both buses and taxis.

During the Summer months, you will find life saving demonstrations on the beach, marine wildfire rescue demonstrations and clean ups as part of the educational activities held on the beach.
