Pretty Bay

Pretty Bay MaltaPretty Bay

Always bustling with activity, Pretty bay offers something for everyone including beach sport activities and nearby bars, cafes and kiosks.

One of very few beaches located in the Southern region of Malta, in Birzebbugia, this beach has both a rocky area as well as a sandy area. Compared to other beaches in Malta, this bay is by far one of the largest.

Originally a rocky coast, this bay was filled with sand collected from the seabed. Located in a small and quaint seaside resort, the beach is popular for a myriad of reasons. The beach is deep and wide enough to accommodate both families looking for a peaceful time as well as for youths looking to boost their energy levels at some beach sports activities.

Gazebos, a football pitch and a playground are also available at this bay. In the evening, you can also take a stroll along the coastline while stopping for a drink or an ice-cream in Birzebbugia. One advantage to this area if you prefer quieter escapes to the beach, is that it is quite far from tourist areas and is mostly frequented by locals.

A number of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops and kiosks line up the street opposite the beach. There is also a rocky area around St George’s Bay situated only a few minutes’ walk outside Pretty Bay which makes it an ideal spot for snorkeling.
