For safety reasons, dangerous articles such as those listed below must not be carried in passengers' baggage:
- Compressed gases (deeply refrigerated, inflammable, non-inflammable, or poisonous, e.g. butane, oxygen, liquid nitrogen, and aqualung cylinders)
- Corrosive materials (acids, alkalis, mercury and wet cell batteries)
- Explosives (firearms, fireworks, flares, ammunition, blank cartridges etc)
- Flammable liquids and solids (lighter fuel, matches, paints, thinners, fire-lighters)
- Radioactive materials of any sort whatsoever
- Brief-cases and attache' cases with installed alarm devices
- Oxidising materials (bleaching powder and peroxides)
- Poisons and infectious substances (insecticides, weed-killers and live virus materials)
- Other dangerous articles (e.g. magnetised material, offensive or irritating materials)
- Note : Sporting cartridges securely boxed and in quantities of not more than 5 kgs per person, excluding ammunition with explosive or incendiary projectiles, may be carried subject to the approval of the airline
