Check-in Counters
 
Separate counters are available for Business Class and Economy Class passengers. For a quick and efficient service you can check-in at any appropriate counter for all scheduled and charter flights departing within a given timeframe. Please check-in at least two hours before your scheduled time of departure. Check-in for all Air Malta flights is closed half an hour prior to departure.

Checked-in Baggage

We provide all our Club Class passengers with a free checked-in baggage allowance of 30 kgs per person. Economy Class passengers are allowed 20 kgs per person.

Children travelling in these Classes are permitted the same allowance as an adult. The free baggage weight for an Infant is fixed at 10 kgs.

Air Malta permits the pooling of baggage between passengers who have checked-in together and are traveling on the same routing to the same final destination.

Each piece of checked-in baggage should not weigh more than 32 kgs in any event, whether or not the allowed excess baggage limit has been exceeded. All pieces of baggage in excess of 32 kgs must be repacked into two separate bags.

We will make an additional charge for baggage in excess of the free allowance and we will only carry it subject to available space on the aircraft. However, excess baggage will be given priority over cargo, except for perishables, AVIs , HUMs , life-saving drugs, and similar types of important cargo.

Hand Baggage

Each passenger is allowed to carry one piece of hand baggage only. This should not exceed the dimensions of 18 cms x 45 cms x 50 cms and should not weigh more than 5 kgs.
